Beautiful Weather in DC! ^_^

Sara & I almost always hang out Wenzdae nights. Just like I almost always hang out with Jason & Megan on Monday nights -- it's routine, and it's a good thing. =)

Due to temperatures in the upper 60s & her "newly acquired free time" Sara & I decided to hang out earlier than After Dinner.
So I was blasting fast techno & Happy Hardcore music (custom mix) in my car as I picked her up ~3pm in Baltimore and we spontaneously decided to go to DC to take advantage of the beautiful weather!

Zip down into the city and across NY Ave & Mass. Ave to DuPont Circle where we parked. Walked all around DuPont (every which-way), then started to head toward Farragut North when I decided it was my mission to locate the store "Chocolate Moose". After a little bit of searching, I told Sara what I was looking for. The name alone sparked her need to find it also [else we get left to our... "Moosey Fate!" --Zim]. I did find it!

Then we continued heading in that direction (which I think is south-er-ly), and we decided it would be an adventure to keep walking and at every intersection always cross the street whichever direction had the green light.
That started us more-or-less in a wide direction towards Chinatown. So we purposely directed ourselves that-a-way.
I remembered how to get to Chinatown from DuPont by walking. Damn my memory is good. ;P
We split orange chicken & crab wontons at Wok & Roll while snickering that we each used to eat there a lot with our respective ex'es. ;P ;P

After eating, we went to the Chinatown Starbucks, drinking upstairs at a nice window view after inventing a word search game from a text-as-art cover to a section in the Express newspaper titled "Spring Arts Preview". We did that for a while, also looking for PT Cruisers out the window on the street (I eventually came up from way behind & won tonight's Spot The PT Cruiser game, but I always win it, hehe).
Then took the Metro from Chinatown back to DuPont -- didn't feel like walking back. We both had DC Metro SmarTrip cards so yeah, we're hip to the jive there. ;P

On the drive back into Bmore, we blasted my "Chicky Pop-Hop" mix which I had made in the summer. It features songs by Gwen Steffani (Sweet Escape & Now That You Got It), Robyn, Brick & Lace, and Cascada. All chicks, somewhat poppy, somewhat hip-hoppy. It's a fun one.
This mix very strongly reminds me (us) of summer 2008 -- the best summer yet.

Hit 7-11 to grab drinks then it started to pour rain, which only helped it feel like a spring/summer evening. We went to Spencer's house to wait for him to come home from the bar. Sara & I played LittleBigPlanet for hours, messing around in the level editor, creating rocket cars & blowing stuff up. Fun times!

And that's my account of this spring-like day in February.

[Coincidentally, the last (and first) time I used these lyrics at the end of a post was middle of Feb last year:]

Living under guard / Wind is on my neck / Sun is on my face / A beautiful day without you! [Royksopp, Beautiful Day Without You]
