Good stuff

Been at the new job for 3 weeks total. AWESOME. Love the company, love the job itself. Stuff I do as a hobby I'm now getting paid to do. Almost no stress at all. Fun company with a great setup. Also my co-techies are great people.
Currently staying with my sis & bro-in-law in Columbia during the weekdays and taking the [very nice] commuter bus to/from DC each day. The bus ride is about an hour, sometimes a little longer if there's traffic. Then I have about a 10 minute walk to my office -- and that is nice. I've actually started to lose a little weight (a little)!

I'm still in the process of looking for apartments near DC. I've mostly decided on Silver Spring, MD. It's inside the DC beltway, but a Maryland zipcode, so I don't have to fuss with changing my driver's license and car registration to the District. And there's a redline Metro stop in Silver Spring, so I can commute easily via the Metro each day, and not have to drive to fun stuff on the weekends. The city is mine! ...will be once I get a place.

Tuesday, 8.23.11, we had a 5.8 earthquake. Felt it strongly at work in downtown DC. They evacuated all of the buildings downtown so that official people could inspect for structural damages.
